The name RE or REI indicates the product capability to preserve its features in the presence of fire for set times of stability, seal and heat insulation characteristics in a determined period of time.
R = STABILITY Conservation of the mechanical resistance from the attack of fire E = SEAL The capacity of preventing the passage of or producing smoke or flames. I = INSULATION The capacity of reducing the transmission of heat. An RE product is capable of blocking flames and smoke, and maintaining its mechanical stability. An REI product, in addition to blocking flames and smoke, contains the transmission of heat up to a maximum of 180° on the so called “cold side” for a given time that can be 30, 60, 90 minutes.
