Dierre takes centre stage on RAI 3: an interview with Officina Italia

The camera crew from Officina Italia (TGR, RAI 3) visited our factory in Villanova d’Asti to film the feature ‘A Door to the World’. Over fifty years of history, 600 employees, 120,000 doors a year and seventy patents tell the story of how we have transformed the security door into a system combining security, insulation and design.

Our security doors featured in Officina Italia

To see one’s own story presented on national television is a unique experience and a confirmation that a journey founded on constant innovation leaves its mark.

In recent weeks, the cameras of Officina Italia, the magazine programme of RAI 3’s TGR (regional news network) dedicated to Italian industrial excellence, visited our production facility in Villanova d’Asti. The feature, entitled “A door to the world”, explored how we are redefining the sector of high-tech security doors by combining leading-edge industrial production with Made-in-Italy craftsmanship

A milestone achieved on the back of over 50 years of company history, made possible by the daily commitment of over 600 employees: 120,000 units produced per year and a turnover that exceeded 160 million euros in 2025.

Security, insulation and design: the new role of the front door

The concept of security has evolved: the front door is no longer just a physical barrier; it is a system forming an integral part of the well-being of the home.

Laura De Robertis, our Commercial Director, explained this clearly in an interview given to Monica Bertolo of RAI 3: “The front door has become the primary architectural fixture in the home, providing thermal and acoustic insulation, fire safety, style and design.”

Added to this is our ability to offer custom-made solutions: whether it’s a renovation in an ancient village, an apartment in a historic mansion block, or an international architectural commission, Dierre knows how to combine the highest level of security with the stylistic and structural requirements of every setting.

Pioneers of home automation: from motorised locks to smart homes

If nowadays high-tech security doors are a market standard, it is because someone paved the way. As our Technical Director Luca De Robertis pointed out, Dierre was the first company in the sector, as early as the late 1990s, to introduce electronic motorised locks.

Since then, innovation has never stopped. Our access control systems now embody home automation technologies, enhancing both the security and the day-to-day comfort of those living in the home.

The value of research: 70 exclusive patents

Our technological leadership is also measured in concrete figures: 70 patents developed during the course of our history, 10 of them still active. One of our most highly appreciated solutions is our internationally patented concealed hinge, an example of how technology and design can coexist without compromise. Among its most highly regarded features are:

  • minimalist design, which adds no visible elements to the door’s perimeter, leaving the lines clean and elegant;
  • maximum security: the hinge is integrated and concealed, making it virtually impervious to break-in attempts.
  • functionality: the door opens smoothly to 180°.

A window to the world, and a thank you to those who have accompanied us this far

A company’s 50-year history is not an end in itself, it is the foundation on which to continue building. Our presence on RAI 3 is proof that over time, innovating consistently leaves its mark. We look to the future with an increasingly solid international growth strategy, knowing that quality cannot be improvised and aware that the future of the high-tech security doors sector is yet to be written – and we are ready to write it.
